
Top 25 Exporters of Moldovan Corn: What Are the Destinations

In 2022, the Republic of Moldova exported 1.2 million tons of corn with a total value of 6.6 billion lei. In the first half of 2023, exporters shipped 378 thousand tons estimated at 1.7 billion lei. The data is contained in the analysis by expert Iurie Rija.
The average export price of corn for the first half of 2023 was 4.69 lei/kg, which is 9% less compared to the average export price recorded in 2022 (5.13 lei/kg).

In 2023, the export price dropped gradually, reaching 3.00 lei/kg in June, twice as low compared to the export price in June of the previous year (5.90-6.00 lei/kg).
The main corn exporters are traditionally the companies Agrofloris-Nord SRL, Orom-Imexpo SRL, Rusagro-Prim SRL, Molgranum SRL, and Rostan Plus SRL.

Since 2022, the leader in corn exports from the Republic of Moldova is the company Orom-Imexpo SRL (172,184 tons traded in 2022 and 68,471 in the first half of 2023). The company is followed by Agrofloris-Nord SRL (163,688 tons in 2022 and 34,755 tons in the first half of 2023) and Rusagro-Prim SRL (68,074 tons in 2022 and 20,537 tons in the first half of 2023).

If in 2021 the main importing country of Moldovan corn was Turkey, from 2022 - the primary destination becomes Romania (490 thousand tons in 2022). Other countries that hold a significant market share are: Cyprus, Lebanon, Italy, Greece, Croatia, and Ukraine.
